Deep Dive Process 2021
The Regent Park as One Deep Dive process for making recommendations from the SDP to the City of Toronto on funding for projects in Regent Park is completed.
The Deep Dive Process consisted of 5 sessions throughout October with the goal of coming to a consensus about what projects will be submitted to the City of Toronto for review. There were approximately 40 participants, including members of the Planning Committee and representatives from the working groups and projects.
The Deep Dive started with 21 projects totalling $963,522. Throughout the Deep Dive process, we had short presentations from each project, identified our conflicts of interest, and discussed the projects and how they would support the community. A consensus-building process was used to narrow down what projects would be submitted. The group came close to a decision through consensus, however towards the end of the fifth session, the group ranked their top projects for consideration. The final results of the Deep Dive were 10 projects totalling $490,285.
All 10 projects submitted their project proposals to the City of Toronto, which are currently under review. An announcement from the City of Toronto regarding funding will be made in December 2021.
